I'm Yasnay Montalvo.

I was born in Cuba. I came to the United States at 18 — eleven years after my father left on a raft, crossing the ocean to build a future for our family. I grew up watching my family's resilience build a convenience store that fed us — and absorbed everything else. Their time. Their presence. The years they could have spent with us.

I am an accountant by education and training. I've spent more than 18 years in the entrepreneurial community, working alongside business owners across many industries — watching the same pattern play out again and again. The business that was supposed to provide freedom became the thing that consumed it.

Then in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, my son was born. I quit my corporate job to be a present mother.

I didn't set out to start a business. People started looking for me. They needed help with their numbers, their systems, their decisions — and I wanted to help. A few months in, I was working more than I had been at my corporate job.

I remember the day everything changed.

I was at my desk. QuickBooks open on one screen, an Excel spreadsheet on another. On my laptop, YouTube on autoplay — Baby Shark, on a loop, keeping my son entertained while I worked. He was eight months old.

I looked into his eyes. And I saw it — the same need I had carried as a little girl. The need to be seen. To be present with. The need to matter more than whatever was on the screen.

In that moment, I made a conscious decision: I would not repeat the pattern. I would not build the same business that had absorbed my family's life. I would find the resources, the mentorship, the tools, and the support to run this business differently. A business that supported my life — not the other way around. A business that let me be present with my son. With my family. With myself.

A few weeks later, I manifested Clockwork into my life. A Facebook ad appeared. By 2021, I had put my initial $10,000 investment on a credit card and begun my Clockwork journey. I never looked back.
